Listed below are some of the projects that I have done so far, including the demos where ever possible. Most of the projects will contain screenshots and detailed descriptions of the projects done.

Projects:

  1. Virtual Desktop and Backup Utility: Virtual desktop and backup utility is a web based service which enables its users to take remote back up of their files as well as allows them to share their files with other users of the system. The Virtual desktop is a simulation of the windows like GUI(graphical user interface) which simulates the user interface of Microsoft Windows. The project also provides many advanced features like realtime synchronization(done using VB.NET) and several other features.The server side scripting( the main programming) is done using PHP and the Graphical user interface is done using the Yahoo user interface library(YUI) which is also an AJAX library. The backend database used for this project is MySQL.
  2. Interfacing with SMS gateway: This project enables the users of the system to send Short messaging services(SMS) messages to cell phones. This project makes use of SMSWORKS API to send messages and to receive stats about the sms sent. This project is also done in PHP which sends REST requests to the SMSWORKS API using the CURL library of PHP. The database used for this project is MySQL.
  3. A Christian Radio website: This project is a christian radio website which does live streaming of various radio programs over the internet. This project allowed its users to select and listen to various radio programs broadcasted before. This website is done entirely in PHP with MySQL as the backend.
  4. Online Assignment Submission: This project is done using ASP and MS-SQL. In this project the students can submit assignments online and the teachers or professors can grade those assignments and can comment on assignments and answers provided by the students. This project had 3 types of users: Students, who can view assignments, answer them as well as view their grades, teachers who can create assignments for their respective subjects and administrators who can add teachers and give privilages to teachers. This project was intergrated with the current database of a college so that teachers and students can have their login credentials based on the code on their icards.
  5. Internet TV: This is a software created using VB.NET where in the user can see various television channels and radio channels on the internet from his desktop using a builtin media player. This software uses internet streaming in a big way.
  6. Site Uptime: This project is done entirely with the use of ASP.NET, MS-SQL and windows Services. This project checks various websites submitted by the users at specific intervals submitted by the users. This project also makes use of windows services to trigger the checking of the website at specific intervals.
  7. Alternative Voting System: An alternative voting system is used in several organizations and has applications in government organizations as well. This alternative voting system was done using VB 6.0.
  8. Free GuestBook Service: This project allows users to create guestbooks which they can embed in their websites or blogs. This project is essentially important for those who dont want to program their guestbooks or does have database support with their hosting plans.
  9. Email Client using Java: This project was a specialized application aimed at aggregating emails from several mail accounts that a client had.
  10. Steganography on Images: Steganography is a cryptographic technique of hiding secret text into images. This project involved taking images from the user and then hiding secret text from these images which only the user can decode using a passcode.
